November 02, 2009

El Paso, Texas, October 26, 2009 ? Tigua Enterprises, Inc., a supplier of commercial and industrial grade lubricants and petroleum products, has been approved by the Small Business Administration (SBA) for participation in the SBA?s 8(a) Small Business Development Program. The SBA?s 8(a) program, named for Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act, is a business development program created to help small, disadvantaged businesses compete in the market place and to facilitate access to Federal government contracting opportunities.

?Because the Federal government is highly interested in contracting with qualified, tribally-owned businesses like our own, securing 8(a) certification has been a key step in our strategy to expand into the government contracting sector,? said Ray Chiarello, President and CEO of Tigua Enterprises, Inc.

Tigua Enterprises is one of several tribal business enterprises wholly-owned and managed by Tigua, Inc., itself a tribally-chartered corporation wholly-owned by the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo, a Native-American tribe situated in El Paso, Texas. Tigua, Inc. was established to promote economic development, job creation and financial sustainability for the Tribe.

Tigua Enterprises (formerly known as Big Bear Oil Company) has been engaged in the business of delivering petroleum products to customers large and small for over a quarter century.
