The Tigua Indian Cultural Center

Take a day trip and treat yourself to a true cultural experience at the heart of Ysleta del Sur Pueblo.

 

The Tigua Indian Cultural Center offers a glimpse to five centuries of rich Pueblo history and tradition.  Enjoy Native American dances and guided tours facilitated by Tigua youth.  Just minutes away from Downtown El Paso, the Center has a variety of gift shops offering an array of jewelry, artifacts, and timeless mementos that will make for a great expereince.

 

SOCIAL DANCES 

 While visiting, enjoy the sounds of ancient Tigua songs

 as tribal youth perform traditional social dances in the plaza.

 

 Performances Saturday and Sunday at 11:00 am,1:00 pm and 3:00 pm.

Summer Performances (June & July): Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 11:00 am,1:00 pm and 3:00 pm.

The Buffalo Dance was performed prior to a buffalo
hunt in order to ensure
a successful hunt.

performed upon the

TIGUA BREAD BAKING

 

Enjoy a traditional experience at its best.  Taste our delicious
bread baked in Pueblo Hornos as they did 350 years ago.

 

Saturday mornings - weather permitting.

Visit the Tigua museum and experience pueblo life. 
See ancient artifacts, learn about our exciting history and
