YDSP Preparedness & Response
October 30, 2014

Ysleta del Sur Pueblo is the only Indian tribe within the state of Texas that has an agreement with the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) to work together to prepare for emergency service deployment. Over the past year and a half, the YDSP Office of Emergency Management and the DSHS Public Health Emergency Preparedness program have worked collaboratively to help improve the YDSP mass prophylaxis plans; develop Point of Dispensing (POD) site specific plans; to educate and train the volunteer and community staff members to handle emergency situations.

Congratulations to Mr. Steve Cordova and Mr. Elias Torres in their efforts to ensure the safety of the Pueblo and Borderland community. Please see the attached newsletter highlighting the community training event.
